FEMA Offers Free Emergency Preparedness Training to Health Care Personnel

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) thru the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is providing, at no cost, training at the Center for Domestic Preparedness to members of the health care community. FEMA covers all costs for travel, meals, lodging, and course materials. Popular courses for health care personnel include:

  • AWR-900, Framework for Healthcare Emergency Management;

Other available training programs pertain more to the medical emergency response and first receiver communities. The health care-specific training programs offer Continuing Education Units or Continuing Medical Education calculated at 10 percent of the contact hours of the course.
